Le Bourg d’Oisans is the natural base camp for all outdoor activities in the heart of the 6 Oisans valleys and the Ecrins National Park.
Bordered to the north by the Grandes Rousses Massif, the village stretches across the plain at an average altitude of around 730 metres (a former glacial lake) and is crossed by the Romanche river.
As well as a wealth of human sporting activities, it is also home to a rich and varied mineralogy.
It is part of the world’s cycling heritage, having contributed to the legend of the Tour de France and the start of famous cycling events (ALPE d’HUZES (Dutch telethon) and LA MARMOTTE).
