PRACTICAL INFORMATION

1. START NUMBER PICK-UP

The start number pick-up will take place at the event village (Palais des Sports, Alpe d’Huez) at the following times:

  • Thursday from 2pm until 7pm
  • Friday from 10am until 7pm
  • Saturday from 10am until 7pm

Please have your E-TICKET with you (received by email on 20/06) as well as ID and a printed copy of your medical certificate or cycling licence is not handed in online.

2. MEDICAL CERTIFICATE / LICENCE

A valid medical certificate or cycling licence is mandatory to participate in both the Granfondo and Grimpée events. These had to be uploaded to your registration account beforehand. Please verify the status of your document in the E-Ticket. If you have not yet uploaded your document, please bring a paper copy of this document with you to the start number pick-up!

Accepté – Your registration is fully in order
Demandé – Certificate/Licence not uploaded (please bring a paper copy of the document to start number pick-up)
Refusé – Certificate/Licence not valid (please bring a paper copy of the document to start number pick-up)
Envoyé – Document has been sent and is being checked by the organisation

3. TIMING CHIP POSITIONING

Please do not place the number plate directly on your frame. The plate must hang vertically at your handlebars to ensure proper functioning. Any contact with the frame might result in the timing chip failing to work properly.

4. ROAD SAFETY AND CLEAN CYCLING

Please respect the road rules at all times! A large number of cyclists will be present, and the road will be shared to vehicles as well. Respecting the road rules will ensure everyone’s safety. Any dangerous behaviour can be sanctioned as will any littering on the roads.

5. COURSE & GPX

The detailed courses for both the Granfondo and Ultrafondo can be found here. It is also possible to download the GPX directly from the links below.
Granfondo
Ultrafondo

Please note the following time barriers will be enforced:

  • Galibier Summit (4.15pm)
  • Foot of Alpe d’Huez (6.30pm)

There are also three neutralised zones (timing stopped):

  • Descente du Col de la Croix de Fer
  • Descente du Col du Mollard
  • La traversée de la Grave

Important: This year’s Galibier feed station will be 2km from the summit (at the tunnel) as there was too much littering at the summit and on the descent these past years. Please pay careful attention to throw all trash away at the designated zones on the feed stations.
